Google Glass and Responsive Design
By

website design

Yes you must have heard… they are coming our way.

If the recent mobile device explosion is any indicator, Internet Glasses are the next BIG trend.

What does it mean for your website?

Once again some adjustments may need to be made to the responsive design code. Until today, your webmaster should have made your website responsive to different computer screen sizes, smartphones, tablets, and even smart TVs.

Now your webmaster may have to adjust the code to display your site on these new devices: Glasses and Internet Wrist Bands (aka watches type).

Google Glasses (Or Google Glass):

When browsing with Google Glasses, one must verbally search for a query as there is no typing available. Example: “okay glass, google, look for restaurant in petaluma near mcdowell boulevard”. This is also another reason Google released its new algorithm Hummingbird.

Your verbal inquiry will render about seven search results which you can select from. Upon selection you can browse a specific website.

Now that you have selected a website, you will see it in full-screen mode. There are up and down functions as well as forward and backward which enables you to scroll the web page.

One very nice thing about Google Glasses is that it supports HTM5, CSS3 and even JavaScript. It also seems to support Animated GIF images and SVG.

We know something big is about to revolutionize the way people search the Internet. It may be in form of glasses, wrist bands, pendants or something else.

As a business owner who depends on the Internet to find new clients and keep existing ones, you must stay current with your website.

If you have any questions about your existing websites and how to stay ahead of your competition online, do not hesitate to contact us.
