Bing is thinking outside the box to gain market share against the mega power Google. Since the release of their search engine, Bing has worked hard to stay relevant with new modern design, interesting features, and efficient ways to navigate. Now they are offering Free Rewards if you use their search engine for your Internet searches.

How does it work?

As they describe it, it works similarly as a frequent flier program. You earn points when searching Bing on your desktop and mobile devices but you also collect points by using new features they might offer. They have understood how to incentivize Internet users to choose Bing instead of Google or other search engines.

Membership to Bing Rewards is free; all you need is a Microsoft account.

What can you get?

With your points, you can redeem gift cards from major stores like Starbucks, Applebee’s Restaurant, Burger King, Amazon.com, Fandango, Groupon and more. You can also give your points to a charity like Boys and Girls Clubs of America.

They make it fun too by offering trivia questions which earns you points for each correct answer. They have sweepstakes you can participate in.

Finally they offer special discounts for Bing Rewards members only which you can redeem online.

At BWC, we think this is brilliant. Though we love Google and have always favor it as a search engine, the idea of being rewarded financially by switching to Bing is very tempting to say the least.

We wonder if Google’s team is gathering as we speak thinking of ways to do something similar. If only we could be a fly on their wall!
